What The Cove Ledger records, what it does not, and how to write to the desk about a request.
The Cove Ledger is a set of static pages served from a content delivery network. It sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics script, embeds no advertising and asks for no account. Reading an entry does not require you to identify yourself in any way.
What is recorded
The hosting network records ordinary technical data for every request, the same way any web server does: the address the request came from, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page when the browser sends one, and the user agent string. Those records are used to serve the pages and to keep the site working. They are not used to build a profile and are not sold.
What is not recorded
The desk keeps no newsletter list, no comment system and no customer file, because it sells nothing and takes no bookings. There is no form on this site that collects a name, an address or a payment detail.
Writing to the desk
Mail sent to contact@halibutcovealaska.com is kept only as long as it takes to answer it and to revise the entry concerned. If you want a message deleted, say so in the message and the desk will delete it.
External links
An entry may link to a tide table, a forecast, a park page or a chart published by someone else. Those sites have their own privacy rules, and this desk has no control over them.
